The 75-minute documentary film with English subtitles begins with a brief sequence from the Kannada movie Ghatashraddha (1977) which is based on Ananthamurthy's novel. According to Kasaravalli, Ananthamurthy's writings has influenced the current generation. The documentary has a lot of individuals, including Ananthamurthy himself, narrating interesting episodes from his life as a writer and a family man.

About the Film

The 75-minute docu-feature, was a blend of fiction and non-fiction. It traced through the literary works of Ananthamurthy through his speech and interviews. There were short stories dramatized within the documentary to add more flavor to it.

About the Director

Girish Kasaravalli is a film director in Kannada Cinema and is a pioneer of parallel cinema. A Gold medalist from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, he is a recepient of 13 national film awards and Padma Shri.

An ardent follower of Kurosawa, Ray, Ozu, Fellini and Antonioni ; Girish has always been inspired by their works.

His first movie, Ghatashraddha (1977), won him many awards including the national award for best feature film.
